Viewing topics in a Web Browser
In the previous section of this tutorial, you used the Internal Viewer to view the stored topics. Callisto also allows you to view a list of topics in your Web browser.
Contents
- viewing the topics
- viewing the document index
- opening a Callisto forum from your browser
Select the New Articles Callisto forum again and click the button marked Open (from file). Callisto opens your web browser on a page showing the topics in the forum:

As with the internal viewer, you can display the web page containing each topic: click on the topic title and Callisto will open a new browser on the page.
Note that you cannot change the order of the topics in this view.
With the New Articles page still displayed, click the link Return to main forum index. Callisto opens a page showing a list of the Callisto forums in the document (this is where the board name of the document is used - Callisto Example, here):

Click on the name of a Callisto forum to see the Web page of topics it contains, or a further list of Callisto forums, if the name you clicked on was a folder.
You will probably find yourself using the Internal Viewer more often than the Open (from file) button. However, the ability to view Callisto forums as Web pages is vital when you are running a single copy of Callisto on a network and reading topics using the Callisto Web server. As a brief introduction to this facility, try typing the following into the address line of your browser:
http://localhost:8089/callisto/New Articles.htm
You should see the New Articles page, just as you did when you clicked Open (from file).
