Our directory of shareware sites, which we believe to me one of the most comprehensive on the net, and a very useful resource for shareware authors will now be available at:
New Shareware Site Directory
This site will be developed to make the list more useful than it is here.

Web design and ecommerce solutions for web sites has never been a major interest of ours, shareware programming has always been our aim.
However recently we came across a small shopkeeper who had in our opinion been badly conned with his web site design.
He had been charged £1,500 which is not at all bad, but what he got was a web site on poor hosting, which he could not hope to maintain and his online shop was totally broken.
The same company offered to create a proper ecommerce solution for £16,000!
One hell of a lot of money cosidering what is actually involved, which may come down to a few days of effort by a competant programmer.
We did a little good samaritan act and at least got his site working for him, for rather less than would get a plumber out of bed!
The situation got us thinking though, there may well be other people in the same boat in our local area, Swindon, Bristol, Wilshire etc in England. If you are in the same sort of situation and need help, contact us at support@marsjupiter.com and you can deal with people who try and see you right. We won't promise to do the job for practically nothing as we did out of outrage the first time round, but we can promise a fair price from people with some business ethics. If you are further afield then still feel free to contact us if you need advice, but as onsite help and support is important, we would need to consider whether we could do well for you. |

MarsJupiter.com producers of the Callisto - Newsreader/Bulletin Board Browser have extended there shareware range to include a range of Internet Explorer toolbars designed to enhance the browsing experience.
The "Where Was I?" internet explorer toolbar lets you enter words from sites you have visited in the past and be taken directly to those sites. Ideal for all those times when you have not added a site to your favorites lists and far easier than trying to trawl through "history" in Internet Explorer. With the auto completion feature in the search box, it is often quicker than using the favourites menu, making it not only an invaluable search facility, but a way to speed up your browsing in general.
The AuntyJean internet explorer toolbar, monitors web surfing with internet explorer and blocks and logs sites it detects to have unacceptable content. You can set various tolerance levels and set up different users to have different access at a set tolerance levels. Thus exercising your choice in parental control. You can view logs of the sites AuntyJean has blocked for each user. AuntyJean has a minimal interface so as not to clutter up your internet Explorer toolbars.
Did you ever wish you had added something to your internet explorer favorites, so that you could find it again? Or on the contary do you wish that half your favorites would just disappear, as they have become a crowded mess? The "ThereIWas" toolbar is a self organising history and favorites system, which will both add to itself automatically if you visit a page frequently and also allow you to add pages if you know you want to recall a site in future. But as time passes, the ThereIWas toolbar removes the bookmarks you are no longer using.
All the toolbars are available as fully functional trial versions, with the low registration cost of $15.00. |

We recently displayed this policy on advertsing which did say we would not show advertising in our products, and we certainly intend sticking the principle that if you do not want to see advertising then our products are not going to force it on you.
With the coming release of the Foboz explorer toolbar though, we do see a niche where we as users of our own products would quite like to see a few adverts. In the same way as we display google advertising on this web page, adverts that look at the context of the page and show pertinent ads. When you do a Foboz toolbar search and see results in a web page, it can be a useful addition to see a few adverts.
As such we are making this a selectable option in Foboz. Users whether they are registered or not will continue to have the option as to whether they wish to see these adverts. |
