Here you will find some answers about the ThereIWas Internet Explorer Favorites/History Toolbar.

ThereIWas is totally independant of the Internet Explorer Favorites and History system.
ThereIWas will never alter what you have set up as Favorites, or effect your Internet Explorer Browsing history.
ThereIWas is displayed in its own menu, showing only the pages you pin there, or that ThereIWas thinks you will want to get back to.
ThereIWas has its own mechanism for clearing its own history which allows you to decide how much browsing time to clear from the ThereIWas history cache. |

ThereIWas tries to intelligently present the pages you wish to get back to. The idea is that any page you want to return to, will be found in the ThereIWas pulldown page menu, and ideally as near to the top for easy acess as possible.
On a practical level this will never happen perfectly, you may visit a page today just once and then a few days later want to find it again. Since ThereIWas is trying to concentrate on the pages you are more likely to want to retreive you are probably not going to find this page in the ThereIWas menu. We do however offer the WhereWasI toolbar designed to deal with just this problem.
If you think ThereIWas could make a better job with your pages then we offer a support forum. We would like you to post your opinions along the lines of:
- "ThereIWas drops recently visited pages too quickly, in favour of keeping sites I visit frequently in the Recent menu."
- "ThereIWas keeps recently visited pages too long, I prefer to see the sites I actually revisit in the Recent menu."
- "ThereIWas promotes pages to the main menu too quickly."
Remember your opinion counts.

ThereIWas displays items with the aim of placing the the ones you will return to next nearest the top of the list, to this end there is a very strong bias towards placing the last visited pages towards the top, tempered by a desired to keep pages you frequently visit near the top of the list.
This does mean that unlike the internet explorer favorites menu, item are not in static positions, but on balance we feel it works well. |

The current answer is that ThereIWas behaves differently according the the page type.
Pages that have been visited once will be forgotten 2 days after they were visited.
Pages visited more than once will be forgotten a minimum of a week after they were last visited. The more you have visited a site the more time will be allowed.
"Pinned" pages will not be forgotten for a minimum of a fortnight. The more you have visited a site the more time will be allowed.
