One of the wonders the the Web is that especially in these days of "blogs" just about anyone can publish their views on just about anything. The downside of this freedom is that researching subjects and trying to find quality information can be frustrating.
Search engines on the web do try and deal with this themselves, trying to rank sites on quaility, but this then has the downside that they are applying their own criteria of commercial and there have been many accusations of political criteria in whether they index sites or show them in a high ranked spot.
Sometimes this is something you object to, sometimes though when searching for a simple fact you really don't want 100's of dubious results you simply want one answer from one reputable site.
Foboz gives you a lot of flexibility, you can decide how many search engines you want searched and how many results you want from each engine, you can also select specific categories of search.
For example if you want to learn how to mix the perfect Vodka Martini then why search the whole web? when you can search several dedicated cocktail sites in our "drinks" category. Quality over quantity has to be the better bet.
If you are looking for "news" and "current events" Foboz can use 18 (at the time of writing) general search engines to give you the maximum coverage of the whole web. But that coverage is also in practical terms vastly extended by the fact that Foboz has 50+ (and growing) dedicated news and current events sites from a wide variety of viewpoints in its search engine database.
These are all sites selected for offering an impressive amount of coverage and in many cases you are unlikely ever to see results from these sites rank highly in conventional search engines, not least because "news" is happening now! and general web search engines lag behind events.
What is also important is that when searching with a normal search engine, someone else is editing the priorities of what you see, with Foboz if you don't like the viewpoint of one of our selected "news" and "current events" sites, you can drag it down the engine list so that other engines take its place. You are the one in control.
