Most importanly for Foboz customers is the fact that we operate a free upgrade policy between major releases. If you buy Foboz now you will not be charged for any upgrade at least until Foboz 3.0 has been released and probably not even then.

Foboz is now on version 0.99, which is a fully functional release covering hundreds of search engines. As new search engines are added these are automatically downloaded to your Foboz installation.

Foboz 1.00 will be much as version 0.99 with just a few tweaks to ensure that Foboz will give you a fantastic search system that you will enjoy using until we release Foboz 2.00.

Foboz 2.0 will be released later this year and will build apon the Foboz keyword system that is already designed to give you much better results than a simple meta search of the web.

Foboz has received a coveted  rating from the major shareware site Tucows.

We aim to make Foboz the most powerful way to search the internet, to this end more search engines are made available to Foboz with each passing day. This week saw us pass the 200 mark. Next week we expect the total to be higher still.

Version 0.99 should be the final release of Foboz prior to the planned 1.00 release.

The changes in 0.99 are as follows:

1. A small enhancement to the search engine parsing language is now in use for about half of new search engine definitions, this means you have to upgrade to 0.99 to get the most out of Foboz.
2. Several other enhancements to the language allow Foboz to use more types of search engine.
3. The icons displaying the type of search could be downloaded incorrectly by 0.98. This is fixed in 0.99.
4. Several minor bug fixes.

New search engines and search categories continue to be defined and the total search engine count is already well over 200.

The plan is for Foboz to have access to several hundred search engines that provide quality results and where the search sites have a reasobable policy on popups etc. Already one search engine has been removed from the system for not meeting these criteria.
